Something is happening

When the houses in our compound were advertised with the real estate agents, it was stated in all the ads that the compound was going to contain a gym, a playground and a pool. We were then told that as soon as all the houses were filled, the building work would start.
Well...

... something sure is going on in our sandy square, but I'm not entirely convinced it will turn into a pool..? They've currently dug up the whole square, and prepared for something looking more like an irrigation system? What's coming? A big lawn? A pretty fountain? Time will tell I guess, but I'm not holding my breath...
